>>>>Getzen 3047AF Trombone; 1995<<<

[SOLD]

This is a Getzen 3047AF open wrap trombone with Thayer valve and removable 8-1/2" yellow brass bell. Has a .547" bore [takes large/bass shank mouthpiece]. The serial number is 3047AF-1018. According to Getzen, it's one of the earlier 3047AF models, made in 1995. These earlier models do not have the interchangeable leadpipes that are used on the 3047's today. [According to Getzen, the leadpipe in this horn is a #2.]

The lacquer has been removed from both the bell and the handslide. This horn is in good condition. A tiny dent on the underside of the tubing in the valve section. Some lacquer wear on the nickel areas, especially the handgrip area. The slide is very nice -- smooth and slick. There's no wear on the inner slide tubes. Includes original Getzen case [Edwards style]. But NO mouthpiece is included.

**CLICK HERE** to see the valve and [unpolished] bell area. Note the screw connectors for the removeable bell.

**CLICK HERE** to see the Thayer valve.

**CLICK HERE** to see another view of the Thayer valve. You can also see where the lacquer just above the locknut has been worn off by the nut. The small dent is on the tubing at the bottom of this picture. But you can't see it in the picture. It's really nothing to worry about at all. I just want to be sure I don't leave out anything.

**CLICK HERE** to see the neckpipe [where it rests on the player's neck] at the top of the picture. There are some splotches of wear on the neckpipe. They're a little hard to make out in the photo.

**CLICK HERE** to see the F-attachment area.

**CLICK HERE** to see the tuning slide area. Both tuning slides are in good shape.

**CLICK HERE** to see the handgrip area. This is the area of the most wear. I'm including a leather handgrip that laces onto the handgrip area. I found that it's more comfortable to hold the horn with the leather handgrip. But I removed it to take these pictures.

**CLICK HERE** to see reverse side of the handgrip area.

**CLICK HERE** to see the serial number area -- at the upper end of the bell section. You can see a half-inch section of lacquer that remains on the upper end of the removeable bell section.

**CLICK HERE** to see the bell.

**CLICK HERE** to see the inside of the bell *before* being polished.

**CLICK HERE** to see the inside of the bell *after* being polished.

**CLICK HERE** to see another view of the polished bell.

**CLICK HERE** to see yet another view of the polished bell.

**CLICK HERE** to see the logo on the bell [after polishing]. It says "Custom Series" on the 1st line and "Getzen Company USA" on the 2nd line.

**CLICK HERE** to see the slide crook.

**CLICK HERE** to see the reverse side of the slide crook.

**CLICK HERE** to see the closed case.

**CLICK HERE** to see another view of the closed case. Note that an earlier owner put a "Brougham" stick-on on the side of the case. Not especially bad. But definitely not original equipment!

**CLICK HERE** to see the Getzen logo on the case.
